The Retreat

Image
New Christmas miniature project! 😀 Now that I've finished my dolls house clock I have been dithering about starting a new 12th scale project. Either a grand stone castle box room (I haven't the room for a whole castle!) or a rustic winter cabin. I decided on the latter since it is more seasonal and I can have it in the living room as a Christmas decoration. I was going to make my own from scratch as I prefer doing that, but when I saw that The Dolls House Emporium had £30 off The Retreat, which is a very nice design with two floors, I decided to buy it as an early Christmas present. I spent the weekend painting and scoring the wood (though the exterior scoring is a lot deeper than the interior), and today I'm glueing it all together!  I'll post pics of the finished cabin in a day or two. 😀 P.S...Excuse the mess of my living room but I'm in the process of putting up the Christmas decorations as well!!

The Manor has a new resident!

I was so impressed with the Marvel Legend's Baron Zemo figure, and the brilliant likeness to Daniel Bruhl (who I am a huge fan of), that I had to buy him. But because I particularly love Bruhl's character Laszlo Kreizler in The Alienist, I decided to make him Victorian. I have left him clean shaven though, no beard, so that I can turn him back into Zemo if I want!😂 Zemo fans might notice a Zemo clue in the room!

Starting a new painting in the attic...

Loki Hot Toys 1/6 figures

Image
This is my Loki (and Sherlock) 1/6 figure display. Apologies for the poor quality but it was filmed with my Nikon camera in the evening. The Loki Avengers and Loki Dark World figures are by Hot Toys. The two Loki Ragnarok figures and Avengers suit and scarf figure are ones I cobbled together. I made the blue Ragnarok outfit. It's a bit naff though - ha ha!

Ticking Away...

My dolls house clock is just about finished now. I just need to paint the door interior and glue the roof on. The clock is working, with a nice chime, but I just need to adjust it to the correct time. It's slightly off. Sorry about the reflections in the glass of the darker pic.
