My Miniature Worlds

Interior of my teeny Thomas Kinkade inspired cottage. Lots more to do as yet though! I made the fireplace myself out of the same stone effect material as the walls. I modified a flickering tea light for the fire itself. The sleeping area is in the eaves and is via a ladder. Only an outside loo, and tin baths by the fire as well. 😂

  Working on the cottage garden now! I know one thing, trying to focus on teeny fiddly things is getting a lot harder now I'm 50!!😭 The porch on the left will go in front of the cottage door, the porch on the right is the entrance to the garden. Still needs some moss and weathering. Each roof will be thatched too. I'm leaving all the thatching until last. WORK IN PROGRESS.

  When I want to work on my cottage but Loki is going through a sleeping-on-the-dining-table phase! 🙄 WORK IN PROGRESS (the cottage, not the cat!) I've painted the roof but it will eventually be thatched. As will the outside loo roof (which looks wonky because it isn't glued down yet!), and the porch. I'll take better pics when Loki finally moves her gorgeous little ass! 😂

  Work in progress cottage trellis and porches! The porches will probably be thatched. They could probably do with a second coat of paint as well. The climbing roses are not fixed yet. I'm just dithering with ideas.

  Forest cabin work in progress. Very rustic. Very basic! But warm and cosy! 😀 Temporary home/hideout of Baron Zemo. 😉 😂

  I decided the original porch I made for the cottage was too chunky so I've made another one. Still not sure if I like it though! I'm using the chunkier one as an entrance to the garden. 😂 They will both look a lot better painted and thatched! Also been working on a little outside loo because the cottage is too small for an inside one!😂 That will be thatched as well. WORK IN PROGRESS.

 Another idea for the front of the cottage...

  I found a use for the original doors that came with the dolls house kit (but didn't look very cottagey!) A trellis arch! I will eventually cover it with trailing roses. I still need to add a top though. I'll have to search through my box of wood scraps! I also think I'll put it around the side door because I want to make a thatched porch for this front door.😀 Not sure whether to paint it brown or moss green. Hmmmm.... Work in progress. P.S...I enclose a pic of them as the original doors.

  Thomas Kinkade inspired Moss Cottage coming along nicely. I made the door myself so it's not perfect! But hey...the cottage is centuries old!😂 I was going to make the stone walls myself using air drying clay but I discovered some brilliant foam sheets by Norg Monster workshop! They work so well! I'll just weather them with a bit of paint and moss. WORK IN PROGRESS.

 Very rustic, very basic, but warm and cosy!

  The exterior of this cabin worked well as a snowy Christmas display but now I need to focus on furnishing the interior! 😀 I'll also weather the exterior at some stage. Work in progress.

  I couldn't help myself! I bought this with some of my Christmas money since it was reduced! I intend to hugely modify it though, adding another floor (an attic room if I can), thatching it and giving it stone walls. And it will have a topiary garden! It won't be dispatched until after 3rd Jan so that gives me time to finish furnishing the cabin.
