Miniature Cottage...
I made this cottage and garden a few months ago but now that I've created this new miniatures blog I thought I'd post all the progress pics here... I had no prior experience of making anything like this, made it totally from scratch, and made it up as went along. The scale is probably about 1:16.
Let the building Commence!!
The MDF for the first two floors arrived today so I can start building! Windows have been woodstained the same colour as the doors. I also managed to get a secondhand staircase from EBay that has a turn in it. It needs putting together and cleaning up a bit. Not sure if I will use it or not but it was only £7! Very excited to be making this manor house but nervous too! I've made a small dolls house cottage but never anything this scale. And I'm not following any plans or anything, I'll just be making it up as I go along! Still don't know what the roof and front will look like yet! Should be a fun ride!! 😂
New head!
I didn't really like the head of my teeny little Phicen 1:12 scale doll so I swapped it for a prettier one! I also added new hair though it needs a bit of styling! I made the cottage and garden. The scale is a bit small for her though.
New 12th scale manor house build...
After making my dolls house cottage I decided the only other dolls house I wanted was a manor house. So, I'm going to take the plunge and make one! I should point out that I have no carpentry experience, no plan, very little patience, the attention span of a gnat, and will be making it up as I go along! Should be fun! 😂 But I will post my progress here so you can see the transformation! In the third and fourth pics the MDF was stacked like playing cards, just to give me a rough idea of the room plan. So nothing is attached there and the sizes are all off and the whole thing collapsed about two seconds after I took the photos!😂 I have since bought thicker MDF for the walls as well because I didn't realise the windows and doors would be so thick! 😂
