  Manor house bedroom work in progress... I bought some wine velvet material for the curtains and bed but I'm not sure I like it. I think I might try a red velvet.

  Manor house work in progress. In this shot the ground floor is finished except for things like curtains and detailing. The stairs on the first floor haven't been fixed yet. The rooms are finished but also need curtains and detailing. The attic floor hasn't been fixed yet and the attic itself needs building now. None of the walls are fixed or cut to size. I'm still in the process of deciding layout. 😀 Haven't even thought about lighting yet! Or the front facade!

  Working on panelling at the moment. None of it is stuck down yet, but all the skirting, carpeting and tiling is fixed. The stairs are just resting against the wall so I can see what it looks like against the panelling. I'm building a floor at a time. Not sure if that's the correct way to build a dolls house but I'm just making it up as I go along! This is the library/study, foyer, and kitchen. The next floor will be master bedroom, landing, and lounge. The master bedroom will also have wood panelling, the landing and lounge will be a mix of panelling and wallpaper. Then there will be the attic rooms. I have included fake doors in the panelling which will have handles added, to give the illusion of more rooms behind.😀

  Just for giggles. My male Phicen 1:12 arrived today. Unfortunately he only had underwear so he had to borrow the lady's jeans until his Victorian clothes arrive (yes, he is going to be a Victorian gent!). He is now wooing the lady and asking her to leave her little cottage and move in to his manor house with him (when I finish building it!).😂😂😂

  Working with acrylic paints to give my manor house walls a stone effect. Being the idiot I am, I glued the windows in before painting so I had to be extra careful not to get paint on them! The walls will also be overgrown with foliage but I will stick that on right at the end rather than paint it.

In the process of hand painting and scoring bare floorboards in the attic and on the upstairs landing (everywhere else will be carpeted or tiled). The photo doesn't do them justice but I've been experimenting with colour and tone to give them a worn look. They still need a bit of tweaking.

Please note - nothing has been built yet! This is still being held together with blue tac! I've still been dithering about design and layout but using the furniture as a guide I think I've finally decided upon room size. The main bedroom will now have french doors rather than a window and I'm going to build a little balustraded balcony that will be supported by pillars. I've changed the window in the library to French doors as well so it will open out onto a little sheltered patio. All this will be instead of my original idea of having a small balustraded roof top garden. I'll just have a complete roof. That way I'll have more attic space. I've decided to incorporate mirroring up the stairs to create the illusion of a wider staircase. All the staircase area will be wood panelled. I've decided to add a hallway beside the kitchen and by adding an angled mirror at its end I hope to create the illusion of the corridor continuing on. All these plans might get...

Don't laugh! This is my very first attempt at making my Phicen 1:12 a pair of shoes! I hate her ankle joint so I wanted something to cover it. I also made her a bracelet to cover her wrist joint and put a ribbon around the other one but will make her a watch at some stage.  I'll tell you, when you're a few months off 50 it is sooo hard for your eyes to focus on tiny intricate things like this!😂 I also made her dress but I hate sewing so it's very simple. I will have another attempt at shoes though. I might make her a couple of anklets or something to cover the join instead.

  Manor house stairs finished! I was going to touch up the woodstaining a bit more but then decided to leave it because I want the stairs to look old, worn and well trod!😀

Dolls house progress... In the process of modifying the stairs. Not easy turning straight stairs and I thank my darling hubby for his help! Decided I wanted a small section of the roof as a roof garden (and astronomy/star gazing area) so bought some fab balustrades that will be painted stone colour. Bought some fab wall panelling that will be wood stained a nice shade of walnut to match the doors. Very excited about finally putting everything together!!!

Dolls house progress... Firstly I should point out that NOTHING is fixed yet in this photo. The walls are being held together with blu tack! But I just wanted to settle on room arrangement and stair orientation before I started nailing and glueing things together! This isn't a kit, I'm building from scratch and just making it up as I go along! 😬
